Steel and oak TV Cabinet

My first TV cabinet, it is made from one single slab of oak, the legs are made from bend steel which I was able to do at a workshop next door @envancorven.

The legs are connected to the wood with threaded inserts which you can see in the fifth picture. To prevent the steel from scratching the wood I glued some cork to the bottom, it protects the wood but also has a slight grip and functions to keep everything in place.

I oiled the steel for a darker effect and as a precaution for rust, the wood I finished with white wash Osmo to accentuate the contrast between wood and steel.

Cables were a Challenge but I managed to get it pretty tidy by using screw hooks.

The whole thing is made of three separate parts and there are diferent ways to set the cabinet up, I show a few possibilities in the last foto’s.

It was a lot of fun to build and I hope you enjoy it!
